Japan Satin refers to the weave of cloth rather than the material. It usually has a shiny surface and a dull back, one of three basic types of fabric weaving with plain weave and twill. Satin weaving is characterized by four or more fill or weft yarns floating on a warp yarn, four warp yarns floating on single weft yarn. This fabric is renowned for making suits, sarees, jackets, shirts, pants, and much more. Satin is commonly used in clothing, for items such as lingerie, nightgowns, blouses, and evening gowns, but is also used for boxer shorts, shirts and neckties. It is also used in the production of pointe shoes for use in ballet. Other uses include interior furnishing fabrics, upholstery, and bed sheets
