Cotton poplin was a nice fabric. This print was very cute too, loved it. I used to make a baby bed, and a baby shirt with the leftover fabric. Turned out great. As wearing apparel, I felt the fabric was not very breathable though, not well absorbing so it was not the good choice for a baby dress.
Poplin, also called tabinet is a fine, but thick, wool, cotton or silk fabric that has a horizontal warp and a vertical weft. Nowadays, it is a strong fabric in a plain weave of any fiber or blend, with crosswise ribs that typically gives a corded surface.
