Are you a Garments, Accessories, Home furnishings or a Shoe Manufacturer who wants to know all about Crepe fabric? If yes, then do watch out this video till end. Hello, this is Tushar from Charu Creation Pvt Ltd, a fashion fabric company at Nehru Place, New Delhi. So friends, Crepe is the name given to fabric having a crinkled or pebbled texture, often used for blouses and dresses with graceful drape. Almost any fiber may be used, and the fabric can be thin and sheer, fine and opaque, or even heavy.

Therefore, it is common to see garments made out of Cotton Crepe, Rayon Crepe, Polyester Crepe, Silk Crepe and even Wool Crepe fabrics. Crepe may be stretchy, requiring care to cut and sew accurately. Its distinctive surface may be achieved by taking advantage of yarn twist, by arranging a suitable weave structure, by employing uneven warp tension, or by applying a chemical treatment. Crepe is highly in demand around the world because of its unique look and comfortable, lightweight feel.

Crepe fabric gives the wearer a slimming appearance and has a very graceful fall, making it a great fabric for party events or other formal occasions; however, crepe fabrics are also preferred for daily wear because they require little to no ironing and are very soft and comfortable. Crepe fabrics are extremely popular with professional women because of its distinctive look but are very easy to maintain and wear. Among all the varieties of Crepe Fabrics, Silk Crepe also called Crepe de chine, is the most luxurious and demanded fabric.

It is lightweight, has a distinctive sheen and a lustrous look that contrasts beautifully with the bumps and ridges on the surface. Think of scarves and the fabric Silk crepe comes into the mind. French crepe fabric is another very fine and light type of fabric known for its slightly flatter appearance and more subtle crinkles. Both Silk Crepe & French Crepe are used to make lehenga cholis and sarees as well as salwar kameez and tunics. Moving further, Cotton crepe and Rayon Crepe fabrics are the

preferred choices for making summer wear. There are light and pretty fabrics which provide airiness and comfort to the wearer. Another crepe variety called Polyester crepe fabric is immensely popular because of its affordability and stylish look. It is most often used to make casual or daily wear clothes. It is also very commonly used as a lining material. For winter wear, wool crepe fabric is an extremely popular choice. Woven using strands of wool, this fabric is the perfect combination of comfort and elegance.

The fabric still retains its puckered and wrinkled appearance but the use of wool lends some heaviness to it. It is used to make beautiful tunics, dresses and salwar kameez for winter wear. Wool crepe is also used to created lingerie. A fun fact, traditionally, crepe fabric was worn by women at times of mourning in many Western cultures. Infact, crepe is still used by Orthodox Greek women for mourning

Are you a Garments, Accessories, Home furnishings or a Shoe Manufacturer who wants to know more about the Fabric Cotton Voile? If yes, then do watch out this video till end. Hello, this is Tushar from Charu Creation Pvt Ltd, a fashion fabric company at Nehru Place, New Delhi. So friends, Cotton Voile is a semi-sheer, lightweight, plain woven fabric made from 100% cotton. It has higher yarn count than most cotton fabrics, which results in a silky soft hand. Generally it has a yarn count of 80.

Voile is a french term which means veil in English. Cotton Voile is a perfect dressmaking option for summers because it is lightweight, breathable and semi-sheer. It allows the air to pass through, providing comfort even on the most scorching day. Think of 40 degrees celsius and above, this fabric is the answer. Cotton voile is a perfect option for casual clothes. Chances are you won’t find it in evening wear, because it does not look dressy enough compared to a number of ‘special occasion’ fabrics like chiffon, jacquard or

Georgette. But it’s one of the best materials for everyday wear. After all, cotton is hypoallergenic, which means it is great with sensitive skin. Solid or printed voile is a perfect choice for making a men’s shirt, a shirtdress,

a chemisier, a tunic, a layered skirt, a sundress, a summer scarf, lingerie like a nightgown or a bralette. Printed cotton voile is a wonderful choice for a statement-making outfit, whether you’re going for a summer dress or a casual blouse.

You may choose trendy colours to stay on the verge of fashion, or opt for your favourite shade. Cotton voile fabric easily makes the top five fabrics best suitable for summer apparel. Cotton voile has a light drape. It does not have any stretch. Due to its fine texture, voile fabric can also be used to line garments. Voile fabric is versatile, which means it is great both for apparel and home décor. You’ll often find voile in craft projects such as pillowcases, cushions, doilies, doll’s dresses and more.

This gauzy fabric is also one of the favourites when it comes to creating lightweight curtains. It filters the sunlight and floods any room with natural light. Well, this fabric has some shortcomings too. For some of us it might appear too revealing. If you prefer less see-through materials, you can either add lining to your voile garment or wear it over an opaque item such as a camisole. Plus, like all cotton fabrics, cotton voile wrinkles easily and absorbs water. It is not comfortable to wear when wet.

Now, let us discuss about the Care recommendations for Cotton Voile.

  1. Wash by hand preferably in cold water
  2. Allow it to air dry hung on a hanger
  3. Iron on low heat, covering with a press cloth.

Remember friends, high temperatures during washing and ironing will most likely destroy any cotton fabric, so avoid them completely. Mind that cotton voile wrinkles more than synthetic voile, but the benefits of having something natural against one’s skin is worth spending

a little bit of time on pressing. As for sewing tips, voile is perfect for beginner sewists. It is slightly slippery, but does not shift as much on the table as chiffon or organza. Pin voile fabric before cutting and marking, and you’ll enjoy the whole process. Another tip would be to pre-wash the fabric before sewing – cotton is prone to shrinkage, so this way you’ll be able to get correct measurements once the fabric is dry. And, last but not least, finish all the edges to stop fraying.

Are you a Garments, Accessories, Home furnishings or a Shoe Manufacturer who wants to know more about the Fabric Cotton Cambric? If yes, then do watch out this video till end. Hello, this is Tushar from Charu Creation Pvt Ltd, a fashion fabric company at Nehru Place, New Delhi. So friends, Cotton Cambric is a type of fine, lightweight and plain weave fabric made from Cotton Yarns. The plain tight weave is a characteristic feature of cambric fabric which lends a smooth & silky appearance to the final product.

Its yarn count ranges between 60 and 80 English Cotton Count. Please remember, in the English Cotton Yarn count system, the larger the number the finer the yarn and vice versa. Cambric fabric goes through a process called ‘calendering’. This technique involves passing the fabric through heated rollers. It is this process that makes the fibres tighter and lends a stiff and glossy appearance to the cambric fabric. If you are looking for a fabric that holds its shape well, then cotton cambric is the fabric for you.

It is surprising to know that good quality cambric fabric is capable of retaining its glossiness and stiffness for years, regardless of fabric ageing. Cambric is an excellent fabric for embroidery and lacework because of its high density. Cambric is commonly used in the manufacturing of a variety of different readymade clothes such as women’s tops, gowns, dresses, men’s shirts and other garments. This fabric is a woman’s delight in summers. Cotton Cambric is also quite often used as a lining material.

It is also sometimes used as the backing material for needle works and artworks. Because cotton cambric fabric launders easily and well, it is ideal for for making products like napkins, handkerchiefs, innerwear, nightgowns, slips & children’s dresses. Cotton Cambric also finds its usefulness in making curtains. Even my office has curtains made of cotton cambric. Most varieties of Cambrics are quite opaque but some varieties of cambrics could be semi-transparent.

It is recommended to set your washing machine to sixty degrees when washing cambric clothing. It is best to avoid using a hot iron when eliminating creases from your cambric garment. A medium temperature iron works best! Cotton Cambric is also known by the names Batiste and Nainsook. By the way, Nainsook is a Hindi word.
