In all ready to wear clothes polyester lining is the most often used lining material- because it is inexpensive. Another reason for using Polyester fabric is that it does not wrinkle.
It is a shiny synthetic fabric that is very easy to care for. It is cheap and may look cheap. Another disadvantage is that it is not breathable and does not absorb sweat so may make you uncomfortable if you wear it long. There are multiple types of polyester fabrics which can be used for lining purposes.
Let’s discuss them one by one. We start with Polyester Taffeta. It is a great material for lining Jackets as it is both decorative and soft to touch. Polyester taffeta is your lining fabric if you want a crisp tightly woven lining. Taffeta fabric holds its shape well.
Taffeta has a lustrous shine and a smooth surface. However it has some disadvantages also. The material is slippery and can be hard to work upon on a sewing machine. To make taffeta a little bit easier to work with, try pre-washing the fabric to make it softer and use a sharp needle. Another disadvantage is that it snags easily.
Then comes Poly Silk. Poly silk is a cheap alternative to the expensive silk lining. It is soft, silky drapey and lightweight. This fabric is extremely versatile and can be used in a variety of applications. It can be used as lining fabric for crafts, such as purses and wallets, and for apparel creations, such as jackets and suits.
Then comes Polyester Satin. It is often used because of the soft feel. Satin usually has a smooth surface on the face and a matt surface on the back. Satin is available in many weights and many price variations so it is a favourite as a lining fabric for inexpensive evening wear and costumes. Next is Polycotton. It is another favourite with more weight – it is a blend of 50% Cotton, 50% Polyester fibers and is great as a curtain liner. Then comes Polyester organza. It is good as a sheer lining for lace fabrics.

Wondering which fabric is best suited for human beings? If yes, then do watch out this video till end. Hello, this is Tushar from Charu Creation Pvt Ltd, a fashion fabric company at Nehru Place, New Delhi. So friends, Hemp fabric made from Cannabis sativa plant is supposedly the best fabric for Human needs
Hemp is one of the lightest fibers you can find, and this gives the clothes and the apparel a very breathable and lightweight feel with the fibers themselves weighing up to a third less compared to the cotton and woolen materials. This is vital for people who travel a lot and for whom comfort and ease is vital. Hemp is one of the rare fabrics that has resistance to Ultraviolet radiations (UV rays). It is about 95% UV reflective. Next, it is water-resistant.
Hemp fabric does not absorb water and instead tries to reflect the water, much like water on a leaf. Further, hemp fabric has antimicrobial properties. If you have a bad odor, then hemp clothing might help you. It prevents the growth of odor-causing bacteria. It packs excellent antimicrobial properties which make it last longer than any other textile fiber like cotton, polyester, etc. Hemp clothes don’t become distorted even after multiple uses and washes.
At the same time, hemp fabric is known for its durability and sustainability. Another interesting fact about hemp textile is, the more you wear hemp apparel the softer it gets over time. Hemp is also easy to dye and retains color better than any other industrial fabric. Well-made hemp textile has strong thermal qualities as well as being hypoallergenic, making it a great accessory for outdoor activities and travel.
There are countless uses of hemp fabric. It is used to make jeans, shoes, sneakers, shirts, dresses, undergarments, hats, bags, mats, bedsheets, pillow covers, duvets, curtains etc. Interestingly, in the history of sailing ships, hemp fiber was used around the world to make ropes and canvas sails. Apart for its usefulness for Human beings, hemp is a very eco friendly material. A fun fact fact: Henry Ford made a car partially from hemp to help out American farmers.

Are you a Garment, Home Furnishings or an Accessories manufacturer who wants to know more about the fabric called RAYON? If yes, then do watch out this video till end. Hello, this is Tushar from Charu Creation Pvt Ltd, a fashion fabric company at Nehru Place, New Delhi. So friends, first of all, what is Rayon? Rayon is a fabric made from purified cellulose fibres, which are typically created from wood pulp. Though rayon is derived from natural materials, it requires certain chemicals, so it’s considered to be a semi-synthetic fabric.
There are many types of Rayon fabrics but in this video I will discuss the 3 most important types of rayon. So, the first type of Rayon Fabric is called Viscose. It was first developed in 1855 and patented in 1894. The name Viscose comes from the process that’s used to make it; at one stage, rayon is a viscous, honey-like liquid that later settles into a solid form. So viscose is really soft and has a silken touch. This fabric is used for most applications for which cotton is used.
Whether it’s dresses, shirts, or pants, rayon is used to make a wide variety of different articles of clothing, and this fabric may also be used to make household items like towels, washcloths, or tablecloths. But it has some shortcomings too. It is really weak when wet. Fabric experts recommend that one should give rayon clothes a gentle hand wash with a mild detergent.
It is advisable to use cold water for washing rayon. Even dry cleaning of the garments made out of viscose is recommended. The second type of rayon is called HWM or High Wet Modulus. It is popularly known by the name of Modal. This type of rayon was particularly developed to concur the weakness of Viscose fabric which becomes weak on being wet. Modal was developed in Japan in 1951.
So like Viscose, it is extremely soft but unlike viscose it is strong even when it is wet. Modal rayon is generally more lightweight than viscose rayon, and it is also more breathable, which has prompted this fabric’s popularity in sportswear. Modal rayon wicks sweat effectively, it is easy to clean, and it is also surprisingly durable and long-lasting. This type of rayon is also a popular fabric for bed sheets due to its high moisture wicking ability.
It is common to see this fabric used for yoga pants, bike shorts, and even swimwear. As compared to cotton, modal rayon is highly resistant to pilling. The third type of Rayon is called Lyocell. It is popularly known by a brand called Tencel. So lyocell is made out of cellulose extracted from Eucalyptus trees. Originally developed in 1972, lyocell burst into popularity in the late Nineties.
Lyocell fabric is very strong whether it is wet or dry and very resistant to pilling. It’s unique features are a) it absorbs moisture very quickly and releases it into the atmosphere b) it is odour resistant. It is used to make all types of clothings but it is very popular in sportswear. Furthermore, Lyocell is quickly becoming a favorite fabric for medical dressings. This fabric’s high absorbency ability also makes it an ideal material to use in medical applications. Are you a Garment manufacturer who wants to know when should one use Silk fabric as a lining material? If yes, then do watch out this video till end.
Hello, this is Tushar from Charu Creation Pvt Ltd, a fashion fabric company at Nehru Place, New Delhi.
So friends, Silk is synonymous with luxury and when you want that extra bit for a once-in-a-lifetime dress then you should go for Silk as a lining material. Silk is breathable and extremely soft. It can be sheer, semi-sheer or opaque. It can have matt or shiny finish. China silk is a comparatively inexpensive lightweight silk used as lining. Habutai lining fabric and Silk Satin are used to line wedding dresses. Dupion silk is a thicker silk preferred by many designers for lining .Silk Charmeuse & Silk Crepe DE Chine are lightweight soft silk also used for lining. Silk crepe back satin is more weighty and can be a wonderful choice for suits, jackets and coats. Silk organza is another favourite thin lining fabric. Silk taffeta is a crisp thin fabric and holds its shape inside the garment. Silk is a favourite lining material for lightweight /medium weight fabrics especially for dresses and skirts which need some shape or volume without bulk. But Silk as lining too have some shortcomings. It is quite expensive. It can be too hot in summer. Moreover, it is not very durable and has to be quite sensitively taken care off. Friends, to view our collection of Silk fabrics for Lining Material, click on the link below.

Are you a Garment manufacturer who wants to know when should one use cotton fabric as a lining material? If yes, then do watch out this video till end. Hello, this is Tushar from Charu Creation Pvt Ltd, a fashion fabric company at Nehru Place, New Delhi. So friends, Cotton is the most popular fabric for making linings – and the most comfortable against your skin. Cotton is made from natural fibres so it is breathable and extremely comfortable against the skin as it wicks moisture well.
Thin lining cotton material does not add extra bulk to the whole garment. This is extremely important for fitting dresses and trousers. Cotton lining like cotton voile and cotton cambric are the best choice when sewing for kids or when lining summer clothes. They are machine washable. But there are some problems attached with cotton fabric. Cotton when used as a lining material does not glide smoothly, which is a criteria many look for when selecting lining fabric, especially for high end jackets and coats. If you want that soft and silky feeling for the inside of the garment then cotton is not for you. Cotton may be rough.
Cotton simply does not look luxurious or expensive. Another problem with a cotton lining is that it wrinkles a lot. Also if you do not preshrunk cotton fabric it will shrink after the first wash and thus may distort the garment as it will shrink differently from lining.
Friends, to view our collection of Cotton fabrics for Lining Material, click on the link below. Friends, I want to acknowledge you for watching this video. I hope that garments made out of our fabric collection would help you to win orders from your respective buyers and strengthen your business in these challenging times.
